ReelDirector
is a mind-bender; this is a “reel” keeper. I’m not the type to suggest that businesses should use any technology because it’s “cool”, but in this case, I must depart from my reserved and rational process. This is a tool that’s cool and highly useful in business.
A few years ago it was a challenge to create a production video on a desktop from a bunch of clips. Now it’s possible to do that in the palm of your hand. If you think it’s difficult, complex, or skills intensive, think again; the folks at Nexvio have created a phenomenal iPhone app that’s intuitive, streamlined and yet comprehensive enough to create some great results.
Consider the features but look ahead to the business possibilities …
- Import music files from computer and use as soundtracks.
- Add and stitch together clips, drag-and-drop to rearrange order.
- Add text watermarks of title, opening credits and closing credits with 4 styles and 9 positions to choose from.
- Put transitions between clips to smooth or blend the change from one scene to another. With 27 transitions to choose from, create professional looking videos with ease and fun.
- Add photos with Ken Burns effect.
- Record voiceover and mix soundtracks.
- Nondestructively trim imported clips; seamlessly split video into 2 or 3 clips.
- Share your movies by email or save to Camera Roll.
ReelDirector will find its way into business settings in a variety of point solutions:
- As a knowledge/skills capture tool – imagine videos of complex tasks and processes on a factory floor.
- As a documentation tool – ask an expert a question and publish a comprehensive video with embedded and zoomed still images.
- As a promotional tool – interview a customer about their experience with your products or services, add title and credits, insert clips about your product, and share it online.
This is a cool app and a pleasure to use. It brings all sorts of creative possibilities to business users everywhere – highly recommended for your iPhone tool bag.A few years ago it was a challenge to create a production video on a desktop from a bunch of clips.
