Diagnosaurus DDx
is an iPhone application which allows a student/medical staff look up a diagnosis by assisting you with a list of possible diseases or causes based on distinguishing or uncertain symptoms. The purpose of the application is not to diagnose the patient, but to begin the formal process of notation of the patients specific symptoms. Diagnosaurus provides differential diagnoses (DDx) of symptoms, signs and diseases. By utilizing the pull down menu, a user can choose to view entries by organ system or select to view the list of symptoms, diseases or all of the entries.
McGraw-Hill’s Diagnosaurus 2.0 is completely updated for the new age in healthcare and used by tens of thousands of students, physicians and health professionals. The UI is simple and easy to use. The main feature of the app is the symptoms category and it’s search option that can assist you in narrowing down symptoms. Some of the other features include it’s ability to access information quickly and it’s offline capability (doesn’t require an internet connection). Diagnosaurus also features a landscape mode and hyperlinks within the app to track down some obscure symptoms. It supports both the iPhone and iPod Touch. It is priced at only 99c which makes it a must have if you are a medical student or doctor.
