My Top 5 iPhone Financial Applications

The iPhone is a high-quality, stylish, user-friendly mobile device that offer a variety of efficient, easy-to-use applications. Business professionals have been jumping on the iPhone bandwagon at an increasing rate because of the phone’s assortment of valuable business applications and capabilities.
Early on, I found myself in the market for a good financial app. Like most people, I like to check stock prices, see how the market is doing, read the latest business headlines and yes, check on my portfolio; I suppose I’m a glutton for punishment. Unsurprisingly, I found a lot of good candidates for a permanent spot on my home-screen. So, here are my top 5 iPhone financial apps. If I failed to mention your personal favorite, let me know.
Bloomberg
– This financial application allows you see current financial news that is moving the markets. Users can monitor all the latest information regarding the major equity, commodity, bond and currency markets across the globe and can also drill down to see which industries and which stocks are driving the equity index. Its ‘Stock Finder’ capability allows users to see the latest information on any listed stock. It has a ‘My Stock’ section where it can be set to monitor the stocks you own. Enter the ticker symbol, the number of shares and price at which it was bought and Bloomberg will display the current price, change and market value of the stock.
iStockMnger
– This iPhone app offers a quick and easy way to do online trading with an Ameritrade account. Users can keep an close eye on their investments by adding the stocks they have invested in. There is a news tab that monitors the different trading sectors from different sources such as Yahoo Finance, Google Finance & CNN Money. The Balance & Position tab displays the funds available and account balances which tells users exactly how much has been invested. The most interesting aspect of this application is that you can actually buy and sell stocks.
Mint.com
– is an intelligent money management application. You can log on into your Mint.com account using this application and you’ll see where you’re spending your money, understand how your investments are performing and set up realistic budgets. Mint gives you powerful insights into your personal finances making–it easier to practice smart financial management.
CNN Money

This app gets the breaking news, market updates and analysis from the leader in business and financial news. Features in CNN Money includes new section where you can access the latest breaking news updates, market updates and analysis from CNNMoney.com. The user can download the articles for reading at a later time. The ‘My Stocks’ section is used to track your personal portfolio. There is also a video section to see the latest videos from the site.
BofA (Bank of America)
– Mobile Banking is little more than a wrapper around its existing mobile site (which isn’t optimized for the iPhone). If this is your bank, you’ll still find it useful. You can use it to check available balances, pay bills and transfer funds on-the-go. Its best feature is the ability to find the nearest ATM and Banking Center location using GPS.
