Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

Yves Neidlinger is the National Channel Manager for Navara and the founder and Editor-in-Chief of iPhoneCTO.

I couldn’t find a more appropriate title than Daft Punk’s song to share the news that we have successfully transitioned iPhoneCTO.com to a new grid-hosted, load balanced server. From this point forward, you should experience dramatically reduced site load times. A big shout out to our Senior Editor, Greg Crisp, for getting the site moved with minimal interruption and downtime. Thanks!

With this problem out of the way, I also want to take a brief opportunity to thank the iPhoneCTO team and our readers who this is all for. Yes, this means you! We made a conscious decision with the launch of iPhoneCTO to not go down the path frequently travelled and focus on doing one thing and only one thing really well.

As iPhone has continued to evolve, so have the needs of its users. The days of using Apple’s uber-device to just play music, surf the internet and play Bejeweled or Solitaire are long gone. Today, users want and expect to be able to use iPhone as much for business as entertainment purposes. iPhone has clearly been making inroads in the business community over the past couple years. Forrester recently declared that iPhone was a superior business device than Blackberry. Major corporations have begun to offer them to their employees and individual business users are relying on them for Exchange email and Office document creation. And that’s just barely scratching the surface.

Thanks to the validation we’ve received by the number of visitors to the site, the talented people and companies who have joined the iPhoneCTO team, what you see today is just the beginning. Stay tuned!
