In January we reported that the popular enterprise email and business process application Sybase iAnywhere was coming to iPhone. Today, itWorldCanada interviewed Senthil Krishnapillai, director of product management on iPhone’s evolution as an enterprise device and some of the unique challenges posed by iPhone.
Providing security that doesn’t infringe on the way iPhone is used is helped by the sandbox Apple created for 3rd party applications. Rather than locking down the entire device, which would be a major inconvenience to the user, Sybase has provided security management features that only protect the suite of applications that comprise iAnywhere.
Sybase’s offering will soon provide IT Managers an additional reason to consider iPhone as a viable enterprise device. Check out itWorldCanada for the full story.
