The Holy Grail for iPhone business users may be close at hand. InfoWorld reports that Cortado, who is in attendance at CeBit in Germany, is discussing the soon to be released Corporate Server for iPhone.
Currently available for BlackBerry, Corporate Server provides the ability to connect to corporate networks, databases as well as the ability to fax, print and view documents. The description and features below come from Cortado’s website. While nothing has been confirmed, they most likely represent what the final product look like.
“Cortado Corporate Server can transform a smartphone into a complete, mobile workstation, virtually eliminating the need for a laptop!
* File access: Access, view, and manage files stored on a corporate drive using a smartphone. Organize files and folders via the cut, copy, paste, rename, create and delete functions. Save files directly to a network drive with “Save As”, and retrieve files from the network with “Send as e-mail”.
* Print: Print any document, in original format, to any Bluetooth-enabled or network printer or use the Push Print function to automatically print documents.
* Fax: Send and create faxes. Send any document to a fax machine or use the short fax templates to create faxes quickly.
* Present-to-Screen: Present or view documents from the smartphone on a computer screen or projector.”
